Amal Clooney won't allow guests to use their phones in her house.
The 47-year-old lawyer - who is married to Hollywood star George Clooney and has eight-year-old twins Ella and Alexander with him - admitted that she has a "phone basket" for friends to forfeit their devices into when they come around for the sake of her family's privacy.
She told Glamour: "Creating private moments and spaces is becoming increasingly difficult. But that’s also why we entertain a lot at home.
"I now have a phone basket that I use to take everyone’s phones away!"
"It’s important to get that balance where you have time alone with your family and with your friends where people feel like you can have a safe and frank exchange.
Amal also noted that motherhood has had an impact on the way she views privacy as a person in the public eye.
She said: "And I would say becoming a parent means you’re more troubled by some of the intrusions. So we do the best we can to minimize any impact on our children. We don’t put our children out there, we’ve never put their photo out there or anything like that."
George previously revealed that getting married and having kids had made him realise just how "lucky" he is in life and he was able to do away with the "selfishness" he had before children came along.
He told PEOPLE: "In marriage, and now with the kids, you give away the selfishness of only looking out for yourself.
"It's a wonderful thing. Amal and I talk about it every day. We feel so lucky."
