Anthony Ramos says Madonna lit up the whole theatre with her iPad during a performance of Hamilton on Broadway.

The 33-year-old actor originated the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway show and is among a group of Hamilton actors to speak out on Madonna's alleged behavior in the audience.

Appearing on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (19.06.25), Ramos said: “The most terrifying was Madonna with her iPad in her face. She was like this [shining a light] the whole time.

“I was like, ‘Damn, shorty. If you’re not enjoying it that much, you know the door is right there. You don’t have to stay here.’”

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the musical who played Alexander Hamilton, also appeared to call out The Queen of Pop in a since-deleted post on Twitter in April 2015.

He penned at the time: “Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou."

However, the Like a Virgin hitmaker's publicist rubbished the claim, telling Us Weekly: "It's not true. She was invited backstage four different times. She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation.”

Jonathan Groff, who starred as King George, also fumed “that b**** was on her phone.”

He said at the time: “You couldn’t miss it from the stage.

“It was a black void of the audience in front of us and her face there perfectly lit by the light of her iPhone through three-quarters of the show.”
