Zoe Saldana met her husband on an early morning flight.

The 46-year-old actress tied the knot with Marco Perego, 45, in 2013 just six months after they were seated together on a plane and recalled that he was the one to make the first move.

Speaking on the 'Table Manners' podcast, she told hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware: "The wedding was in 2013, and I'd met him just six months before. We met on a plan at 6:30 in the morning. It was from LA to New York, and we were within a couple of aisles from each other.

"He did [make the first move]. He's so Italian. Italians are so confident, they're like [flirting]. And I'm from New York, so I'm like 'Stop!' My husband is really gentle and I'm like 'Talk, growl' but he's like 'Don't be unkind to me, I'll speak to you like this...' Maybe that's what he liked about me? I don't know."

The 'Emilia PĂ©rez' star also revealed that she had been on her way to the airport to meet her makeup artist at the time, who had spotted the handsome man in the queue opposite to her and insisted that she get there right away to set eyes on him.

She said: "I was travelling with my makeup artist who is from Argentina. It doesn't matter where she's from. but I love the way she speaks. We were travelling together for a work thing.

"She calls me and she's like 'Where are you?' and I'm like 'Oh I'm about 10 minutes away...' and she goes 'Come quick, there's an adonis on the parallel queue to us. Come quick before he leaves!' So then I'm like 'Excuse me, excuse me...'

"And my eyes look at her and they go exactly what she's staring at. He's right there paraell to her on the neighboring queue and something told me.

"I just heard this voice, I was like 'What the f*** is that?' telling me 'You love him.'"
