Billy Ray Cyrus' ex-wife Firerose admits it's 'very sad' to see his 'struggles' persist
Firerose hopes Billy Ray Cyrus will be able to heal from his "struggles" as she comments on his disaster appearance at Donald Trump Liberty Inaugural Ball.
Billy Ray Cyrus's ex-wife Firerose says his concerning behaviour lately "reflects" what she experienced during their relationship.
Trace Cyrus and his siblings expressed this week that they are "genuinely worried” about their father after his performance at Donald Trump's Liberty Inaugural Ball on Monday (20.01.25), when the country music star was seen wandering around the stage and talking to the audience, which he later blamed on technical difficulties.
And now, his former spouse - who he filed for divorce from last August, citing "irreconcilable differences" and “inappropriate marital conduct” - has reacted and said she is “glad the truth is coming to light”.
The 25-year-old singer told the New York Post's Page Six column: “What’s being seen in public now reflects much of what I experienced in private during our relationship.
"It’s very sad to see those same struggles continue for him, but I’m glad the truth is coming to light — for his potential good because healing is only possible when you confront the truth and accept there’s a problem.”
In a lengthy Instagram post, Trace, 35 - whose sisters are Miley, 32, Brandi, 37, and Noah, 25 - wrote: "Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever.
"I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life.
"Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you.
“You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away."
Trace said Noah has "desperately" wanted Billy Ray, 63, "to be part of her life", but claimed he hasn't "even been there for her".
He continued: "That’s your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow just like me she still idolizes you though.”
He said Billy Ray's children were "all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew and hoping for the day he returns.”
He added: "You’re not healthy Dad everyone is noticing it. Just like I showed up for you at mamaws funeral when you didn’t expect me to I’m still here right now.
"As I write this with tears in my eyes I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon. I love you Dad."
Trace - who revealed he has been "clean from alcohol" for over 18 months - insisted he will keep praying for his father.
He concluded the open letter: "We haven’t talked in a while but I’m over a year and half clean from alcohol.
"Guess what? I feel amazing.. I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea and I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help.
"You know how to reach me. Till that day comes I will continue to pray for you."
