Trish Paytas thought it was "so weird" when she became the victim of a news prank.

The 36-year-old YouTube star knew it wasn't real when a website announced she was going to be starring in the leading role of 'Chicago' on Broadway but her fans got excited and the false information received a lot of traction.

She told People: "Obviously I know that's not real 'cause no one approached me about it, but I was like, 'What is this? This is so weird. People were so happy for me, and I was like 'F***!

"They got a lot of clicks. And they were like, 'I think we're going to do it.' And I was like, 'What?' And then we got the date and the theatre, and I was like, 'Wait, this is happening!"

ButTrisha has always wanted to be on the stage since she watched 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' as a child and "accepted" that probably wasn't going to happen for her in terms of making it to The Great White Way as a seasoned performer but still feels like she has to "entertain" other people.

She said: "What I have is passion. Maybe not talent, but I have a lot of passion... I'm not, like, Sutton Foster. I kind of accepted it, but at the same time I was like, 'No, I still feel like I'm destined to do something.

"I feel like I should be entertaining people, 'cause it's when I'm the happiest."

Now, the 'Just Trish' host is actually gearing up to star in her one night onlw show 'Trisha Paytas' Big Broadway Dream', which will take place on Broadway in February 2025.

She said: "If this is my Broadway debut and closing, it's fine. But I would also love to do something on stage in New York, Broadway or off-Broadway, and then I would love to do a movie,

"I love that [movie] musicals are coming back, and if they do Joseph, I would love to be somewhere in there."
