Andy Samberg "almost flopped out" of his shorts during a performance with Charli XCX on 'Saturday Night Live'.

The pop star hosted the show last weekend (16.11.24) and teamed up with Andy for a sketch called 'Here I Go' in which they played a couple singing a song about snitching on their neighbours and at one point they pull off their coats to reveal skimpy matching red outfits - and Andy admits his shorts were a little too tiny.

During an appearance on 'The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast', Andy explained: "There was a lot of debate about how high my shorts should be.

"And I kept being like: ‘Well Charli’s are gonna be pretty high because that’s how she rolls, so I should really have mine high' ...

"They [the costume department] cut them higher and I was like: ‘I don’t know, maybe I should go higher.' And then as soon as we started, like, really dancing, I really almost flopped out. I was like: ‘Oh no!'"

Andy added: "Thank God we did not make it any higher cause it would have been really bad."

He revealed he also considered wearing the "exact same outfit" as Charli but thought better of it. Andy added: "I was like, well no, I don’t think anybody actually wants to see that, despite what they might think."

Co-host Seth said of the skit: "It is very funny that it was not originally written to have a wife in it because it is so perfect. I love the reveal just knowing that Charli XCX was standing behind you.

"It’s just really funny to think about, like, a giant musical superstar at that level agreeing to do something like this, and then her reveal is just sort of crouching behind Andy."

A well as hosting SNL, Charli was also the show's musical guest and in her monologue she declared herself to be a triple threat, adding: "Which, in England means I sing, I drink, and I smoke."

She also appeared sketches playing Victoria Beckham, a podcast producer and an acting student.
