Jennifer Lopez is reportedly desperate for a “big dance hit”.

The 55-year-old singer was left devastated after she filed for divorce from her ex-husband Ben Affleck, 52, on 20 August, but is now said to be back on top of getting her music career on track again.

A source told Page Six about her music team: “They have reached out to songwriters. She wants a big dance hit.

“She wants to get hits, and put out a new album.”

Jennifer’s last album ‘This Is Me… Now’ was inspired by her relationship with her ex Ben and was released in February.

It failed to break the top 20, debuting at No 38 on the Billboard Top 200.

Jennifer hinted at retiring from music ahead of its release, saying: “The truth is I don’t even know if I’ll ever make another album after this.

“Don’t tell Benny (Medina, her long-term manager) that that’s what I’m thinking – this might be my last album ever.”

The source added about her current music plans: “She has had an enormous amount of hits and can’t accept the last album is the end of her music career. “She wants to wash away the stink of ‘This is Me Now.’”

Jennifer Lopez has also been said to be “taking time for herself” after her split from Ben.

A source told People even though J Lo has experienced one of the “hardest years” of her life, she is now prioritising her wellbeing and career.

They added: “She didn’t want to file for divorce. She just felt like she had no choice. Nothing was gonna change with Ben.

“She was very upset about (the split.)

“But true to her positive outlook on life, she’s moving forward with optimism.

“Instead of feeling like she's fallen flat on her face, she sees it was meant to be.

“She’s taking time for herself right now.”
