Gordon Ramsay was unable to dress himself after his horror cycling accident.

The 57-year-old chef - who has six children with wife Tana - was left severely bruised and in pain following a "really bad" smash on his bike in June, and he's admitted the swelling was initially so bad, he was left feeling like a "95-year-old man" because he needed his assistant Justin Mandel to help with everything.

He told the new issue of Britain's Men's Health magazine: "I couldn’t even put my f****** socks and pants on. Justin, he used to dress me in the morning. I felt like a f****** 95-year-old man. Asking a 30-year-old kid to put my f******underpants on was embarrassing."

Gordon explained the accident occurred when his front wheel hit a "crater-like pothole", causing his bike to spin and him to go flying through the air - but he still tried to continue riding, only to realise his helmet had split completely.

His vision then grew blurry and he was bleeding a lot.

He recalled: "I honestly thought I was going to pass out."

But the 'Food Stars' host managed to contact his assistant, who called an ambulance, where scans showed he had no broken bones.

Meanwhile, Gordon - who has been undergoing daily lymphatic drainage massages and physio to reduce the swelling from the accident - insisted he has no plans to slow down or retire.

He said: “I could sit back, put my feet up, buy a boat and f*** off to the Caribbean, but I have no interest in that.

"I love the jeopardy... and I can do that because I’m fit.

"I can do that because I’ve got the drive. When I haven’t got the drive, then I’ll decide to hang up the hat...

“I started with nothing. I grew up with mum and dad not even owning their own house, so you don’t obsess over money, and you don’t get spoiled. I love luxury. I love cars, but f*** me, do I work hard for them.”
