Tori Spelling admits it's a 'hard time' to do Dancing with the Stars after Shannen Doherty loss
Tori Spelling says her late friend and co-star Shannen Doherty has "inspired" her to "turn my power on" after she was revealed as a contestant on 'Dancing with the Stars'.
Tori Spelling admits it's a "hard time" to being doing 'Dancing with the Stars' following the passing of Shannen Doherty - but her late co-star taught her that "when you commit, you commit".
The 51-year-old actress is following in the footsteps of her 'Beverly Hills, 90210' co-star and close friend - who lost her lengthy battle with cancer on July 13 aged 53 - by taking part in the next series of the ABC reality dance competition, and she knows Shannen would have been willing her on.
She told PEOPLE: "It's definitely a hard time with doing the show and all the excitement and having lost Shan so recently. But I remember she loved doing it and was totally in it.
"She definitely in life has inspired me that, you know, when you commit, you commit. And I definitely, this season, she has encouraged me to turn my power on.
"So I'll take that with me."
Tori also had the encouragement of another 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star, Brian Austin Green, 51, who also competed on the show in 2021.
She said: "Brian Austin Green has known the whole time since I got that phone call.
"So the whole time, I was like,' I don't know. What should I do? Should I do it?' And he was like, 'You will be amazing. You need to do this.' "
Tori has been partnered with professional dancer Pasha Pashkov and Brian's partner, Sharna Burgess - a former 'Dancing with the Stars' pro - believes they have the potential to go far in the competition.
She said: "Sharna is totally like, since the beginning, I was like, 'Sharna, who do you think I'm going to get? Who's my partner?'
"And she literally went through everybody and was saying, ' Here's why I think they would work for you' and everything."
