Adele ‘boasts she can easily drink anyone under the table’
Despite being sober for months at a time to save her voice and after overhauling her lifestyle and diet, Adele is bragging she can still “easily” drink “anyone under the table”.
Adele has reportedly bragged she can still “easily” drink “anyone under the table”.
The ‘Chasing Pavements’ singer, 35, who lost around eight stone after overhauling her lifestyle and diet in 2019 – and who has been sober for months at a time to preserve her voice during her residency at the Colosseum Caesar Palace in Las Vegas has now told fans she has now dumped her ban on alcohol.
According to MailOnline, she told a crowd at the venue: “I do like a drink. I can’t lie. (I have) definitely cut it back, especially since I’ve become a mum and I’ve become a professional artist, but easily, easily, easily could drink any one of you under the table.”
She reportedly added: “And maybe it’s the Brit in me. But the stability that this has given a bunch of basically rockstars that are working and including the crew and everybody like that is second to none. And it’s given us peace of mind.”
Adele, who has son Angelo, 11, with her charity boss ex-husband Simon Konecki, 49, who she divorced in 2021, is said to have added cutting back on drink has made her calmer, but said she still lives a hectic life.
She is reported to have told fans: “Being a musician, even if you sing piano ballads you are a bit of a rockstar.
“I’m sorry, because the kind of lifestyle you end up living (is) like ‘ping, pong, ping, pong’ – all of us are addicted to something.”
Adele last year admitted her old tolerance to wine had plunged since she went sober, adding to a crowd as she approached a holiday from her Sin City residency: “I stopped drinking, but obviously now I’m ready to start again because it is my break.
“And I can’t drink red wine ever when I’m singing because I don’t know about you, but red wine (messes) me up. I cannot handle it. I’m a white wine girl, but not straight.
“But I can’t drink white wine anymore. I’m 35 going on 85.
“I have to have half and half: half sparkling water and half white wine with ice.
“And I still get (drunk.) But a glass of red wine tips me over the edge. I have the worst hangover, my whole mouth and tongue turns red.
“I look like a disaster and it just gets rid of my voice.”
