Leaving Dancing with the Stars was scary, says Cheryl Burke
Cheryl Burke has revealed that she found it tough to walk away from 'Dancing with the Stars'.
Cheryl Burke found leaving 'Dancing with the Stars' to be a "scary" moment.
The 39-year-old dancer quit the hit TV show in 2022, and Cheryl has now admitted that it was a very tough decision to take.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she confessed: "I think my decision to leave the show was scary.
"It had been 26 seasons."
Despite this, Cheryl's podcast series - 'Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans' - has helped her to cope with life after the TV show.
She shared: "My therapist says normally I'm a professional runner, meaning I like to run away from my problems. And now I have to actually face it and face my feelings and feel everything. There's a lot of mixed emotions happening, put it that way."
In November 2022, Cheryl took to social media to announce her departure from 'Dancing with the Stars'.
The dancer - who spent almost 17 years on the TV show - said on Instagram: "This has been one of the absolute hardest decisions of my life and I am also confident that it is the right one. This has truly been the experience of a lifetime. I'm looking forward to this next chapter of my career, but man will this one be hard to beat! Until next timeā¦Love you all, always forever xx. (sic)"
Cheryl subsequently admitted that the TV show had "changed [her] life".
She told E! News: "It's the end of an era, my time as a dancer on 'Dancing with the Stars'. It has changed my life. I have not stopped crying and I'm not one to really cry."
