Prince Harry is reportedly refusing to watch Netflix’s latest series of ‘The Crown’.

The royal, 39, has reportedly been made aware of how season six of the popular royal drama features the death of his mum Princess Diana – killed aged 36 in 1997 in a Paris tunnel car smash – and that it includes an appearance from her ghost.

A source told Page Six about how he is “understandably” swerving watching the latest run of the show, the first four parts of which were released on Netflix on Thursday (16.11.23): “Due to the sensitive nature of content in upcoming episodes of ‘The Crown,’ Prince Harry has understandably decided not to view this season.”

But the insider added Harry – who signed a multi-million dollar content deal with Netflix along with his 42-year-old wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex – is not offended by the show.

They said: “There are no ill feelings towards the show’s creators or Netflix.”

The sixth and final season of ‘The Crown’ charts Diana’s final days amid her romance with film producer Dodi Fayed who was also killed with her on August 31, 1997, aged 42.

Diana is played by Elizabeth Debicki, 33, in the show, which portrays her appearing as a ghoul to her ex-husband Prince Charles (Dominic West) and her mother-in-law Queen Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton.)

Dodi is played by Khalid Abdalla and is also brought back as a poltergeist.

Harry (Fflyn Edwards) is shown being woken up in bed and told the news his mum has died while his older brother Prince William (Rufus Kampa), watches on.

The series also depicts the final conversation between Diana and Harry, who was 12 at the time of her death.

Harry and Meghan were reportedly “not consulted by anyone affiliated with the series or Netflix” according to Page Six, and were not sent storylines or advance episodes for approval or discussion.

Harry’s brother William, 41, is also said to have told his inner circle he will not be watching series six of ‘The Crown’.

The remaining six episodes of the show will be available to stream from 14 December.
