John Stamos says he was left in “overwhelming” agony after allegedly catching his ex-girlfriend Teri Copley in bed with Tony Danza.

The ‘Full House’ actor, 60, also admitted model Teri, 62, probably “wasn’t the right girl” for him, but says in his new memoir ‘If You Would Have Told Me’ her apparent affair with ‘Taxi’ star Tony, 72, was the final straw for their relationship.

He says in his book: “I can’t explain it, but I would’ve rather been punched in the nose again or something because the pain is so overwhelming.”

John – who is now settled with his actress second wife Caitlin McHugh, 37, who he married in 2018 and with whom he had son Billy, five – added Teri’s alleged cheating was “physically painful” and “worse than anything”.

He said about apparently catching Tony in bed with Teri: “Seeing him, realizing it was him and stuff, it was hard. I mean, it was awful.”

John claimed he walked in on them and noticed Tony’s “ripped abs” and was left “breathless” by the scene before he stumbled out of the room.

He said: “At first I was like, ‘I’m going to kick his…’ I didn’t know it was (Tony) yet.

“I see his abs. I’m like, ‘Maybe not. F*** it.’ And I ran,’

“But I remember running down the driveway with tears streaming down my face and I didn’t want anyone to see me.

“I jump in the El Co, start the car, and Elton John is still singing, and that’s when it hits me.

“I mouth the words to his most famous lyrics and realize the name of my rival: ‘Hold me closer, Tony Danza.’

“It took me a long time to get over that.”

Despite John’s version of events, Teri insists she and the actor had already split before he walked in on her with Danza.

She told People: “I wondered, ‘What was John doing there?’ because we had broken up.

“He just looked at me and shook his head and walked away.”

John also told People he thinks Teri is “a nice person” despite being convinced she cheated on him.

He said: “I mean, it wasn’t right to cheat on me, but I was too immature; I wasn’t a man.

“I didn’t become a man for a long time and I think she was… I don’t know. I was broken.”

He also said he decided to include the story in his memoir because he wanted to share “relatable things that happened” in his life with his fans.

John married his first wife, actress and former model Rebecca Romijn, now 50, in 1998, but they had a bitter divorce in 2005.
