Jason Statham reunites with Guy Ritchie for Netflix revenge thriller Dogfight
Jason Statham is set to team up with longtime collaborator Guy Ritchie once again in Netflix's new London-set action thriller Dogfight as he also prepares for the release of The Beekeeper 2.
Jason Statham is teaming up with Guy Ritchie once again for Netflix's new action movie Dogfight.
The streaming giant has confirmed the actor will star in the upcoming feature, which is being written, directed and produced by Ritchie. Production is scheduled to begin in the UK in early 2027.
Dogfight is a "stylish revenge actioner set in the London criminal underworld" and will mark the seventh film collaboration between Statham and Ritchie.
The project reunites one of British cinema's most successful actor-director partnerships. Statham first found international fame in Ritchie's 1998 crime caper Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels before working with him again on Snatch in 2000.
Their latest collaboration follows a string of recent team-ups and comes ahead of the release of Viva La Madness, which is also directed by Ritchie and stars Statham.
The film is based on J.J. Connolly's novel of the same name, with Connolly and Ritchie co-writing the screenplay. Connolly is best known for writing Layer Cake, which was adapted into the acclaimed 2004 crime thriller directed by Matthew Vaughn.
Viva La Madness boasts a star-studded cast alongside Statham, including Vinnie Jones, Jason Isaacs, Babs Olusanmokun, Camila Mendes, Ben Foster and Jonny Lee Miller.
The announcement adds another major project to a packed slate for Statham, who is also preparing to return as Adam Clay in The Beekeeper 2.
The sequel to the 2024 action hit is slated for release on 15 January 2027.
The original Beekeeper proved to be a box-office success, grossing $162.6 million worldwide and building a strong audience through digital platforms.
Directed by Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, The Beekeeper 2 features a cast including Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland.
Statham serves as a producer on the sequel through Punch Palace Productions alongside Chris Long and Kurt Wimmer, who also worked on the original movie.
