Lauren LaVera hoping for romantic comedy role after enduring gore of Terrifier 3
'Terrifier 3' star Lauren LaVera would like a role in a romantic comedy after enduring fake blood and guts battling killer Art the Clown in the slasher film.
Lauren LaVera is ready to star in a romantic comedy after being covered in blood and guts for 'Terrifier 3'.
The 30-year-old actress returns as 'Final Girl' Sienna Shaw to battle brutal killer Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) in the slasher sequel which has been a box office smash hit.
After being tested to her physical and mental limits by director Damien Leone during the 'Terrifier 3' shoot, which at times left her feeling genuinely scared, Lauren would like to film a rom-com and enjoy some drama and love scenes without the need for gore.
In an interview with Swagger Magazine, she said: "While we’re filming, it’s very intense and from doing my own stunts, my body would ache. So I took quite a bit of ibuprofen during filming and I was sweating all the time because my body didn’t know the difference between acting scared and actually being scared. I was talking to our intimacy coordinator, Maria, and she explained that my body was reacting to the stress, even though my mind knew it was all fake. So I would love to do a romcom next because I feel like my body needs a break from all this stress!
"Luckily, none of the actors are method actors, so once we call 'cut', we’re all just ourselves. I’m really fortunate that I know a lot of the cast and crew for 'Terrifier 2' and it's a really friendly, family-like environment. We’re constantly cracking jokes and hanging out between takes, which helps break up the intensity."
Despite her need for a break from the splatter-fest of 'Terrifier 3', Lauren would have no hesitation in working again with Leone, who has already confirmed plans for 'Terrifier 4'.
And she is happy to continue to work in the horror genre after being dubbed the next 'Scream Queen' by fans, following in the footsteps of horror legends like Scream's Neve Campbell, 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' star Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jamie Lee Curtis - the star of the 'Halloween' franchise and movies like 'Terror Train', 'Prom Night' and 'The Fog'.
She said: "I've been auditioning like crazy. I’d love to feed my creative love in a different way and try to do something more comedic next, so most of my auditions have been in that vein. I would still do horror, just as long as the story was different from what I've already done. I’ve also been writing a coming-of-age comedy with my best friend about our time studying abroad in Europe, and just the shenanigans we got into. So I'm hoping to do that next, and of course, I love horror and would be thrilled to continue in the genre, especially if it means working with Damien again!"
