Andy Serkis has revealed that 'The Batman Part II' will start filming next year.

The 60-year-old actor is due to reprise his role as Batman's butler Alfred Pennyworth and has set out the timeline of production on the superhero sequel that is slated for release in 2026.

Speaking at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Andy quipped: "Well, there is a huge arc which you've got – nah, I'm not giving away anything.

"Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I've just found out that we're probably likely to be starting filming early next year. Therefore, if you do that math, it'll be a year and a half after that."

The first film marked Robert Pattinson's debut as the Caped Crusader and proved successful both critically and commercially and Serkis has told audiences to expect "another brilliant script" from director Matt Reeves.

The 'Lord of the Rings' star said: "I know that Matt (Reeves) is working really hard on the script.

"Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it's going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing."

Andy is also eager to collaborate with Pattinson again after their work on the original movie in 2022.

He said: "I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more."

Jeffrey Wright is also set to return as Gotham City police officer James Gordon and revealed earlier this year that he was "patiently waiting" to see the script.

He told Variety's Awards Circuit podcast: "Here's the beginning, middle, and end laid out for you.

"I have not read the script. I have not received the script. I'm waiting patiently. But I'll tell you what? As soon as I get it, I'll call you. I'll send a copy right over to you. On the off chance that Matt Reeves hears this, the hairs on the back of his neck are going to stand up."
