Prince William and Prince George braved the rain as they watched Aston Villa suffer a 3-0 defeat against Barcelona.

The Prince of Wales, 44, took his 13-year-old son to Spain for the Champions League match at Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday (03.11.26).

The pair were spotted sitting together in the stadium's VIP section, with George pulling his hood up against the wet weather while William wore a cap.

Before the match, Barcelona president Joan Laporta welcomed the royals and presented them with personalised football shirts.

The outing came during George's half-term break from Eton College, where he began studying in September.

It was also his first public appearance since starting at the boarding school.

William has been an Aston Villa supporter since childhood and has regularly taken his eldest son to watch the Birmingham club play.

He previously explained that he chose Villa because he wanted to support a team that offered more excitement than the bigger clubs.

Speaking to former footballer Gary Lineker in 2015, William recalled how his school friends supported Manchester United or Chelsea.

He said: "I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments."

The royal has since passed his enthusiasm for the club to George, whom he once described as "part of the pride".

The father and son previously attended Aston Villa's Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain in April 2025.

Their latest football trip followed comments from Catherine, Princess of Wales, about looking forward to having her children home for the school holidays.

During a visit to a charity shop in October, Catherine, 44, told well-wishers: "My children break up tomorrow, and I can't wait to have them all home."

The princess and William are also parents to Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight.

Catherine previously admitted that she had missed George since he moved away to boarding school, making the half-term holiday an opportunity for the family to spend time together.
