Stephanie Vaquer reportedly faces indefinite WWE absence amid illness
Stephanie Vaquer could be facing an extended spell away from WWE after an undisclosed illness reportedly forced her out of a planned match against Becky Lynch.
Stephanie Vaquer could be facing an extended spell away from WWE after an undisclosed illness reportedly forced her out of a planned match against Becky Lynch.
The former Women's World Champion was withdrawn from Monday's (26.10.26) episode of Raw in Fresno, California, just two days after being cleared to return from an ankle injury.
WWE official Adam Pearce told viewers that Vaquer was not medically cleared to compete, but did not explain the reason for the late change.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson subsequently reported that her absence was believed to be illness-related rather than connected to the previous injury.
A separate report from Cory Hays of False Finish claimed the Chilean wrestler would be out "indefinitely", although WWE has not confirmed that assessment.
No diagnosis has been disclosed, and there is no official date for her next match.
The situation represents an abrupt change from Saturday (24.10.26), when Vaquer indicated she was ready to face Lynch in a number one contender's match.
WWE had also advertised their contest, with the winner set to earn a chance to challenge Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship.
Instead, Pearce awarded Lynch an immediate title opportunity against Morgan in Monday's main event.
Lynch won the match by disqualification after members of The Judgment Day interfered, meaning Morgan kept her championship.
Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez became involved as Lynch appeared close to securing a victory.
Tiffany Stratton later approached the ring with her Money in the Bank contract but did not complete a cash-in.
Vaquer's ankle problem followed her defeat at Money in the Bank on 10 October, when Morgan won the Women's World Championship in a triple threat also featuring Lynch.
Despite that setback, she returned to the ring for WWE live events in Honolulu on 16 and 17 October.
Those appearances came before the announcement that she could resume televised competition.
Vaquer had already missed several months of action earlier this year before returning to the women's title picture in August.
WWE has not announced whether the match against Lynch will be rearranged or when Vaquer might receive clearance to compete.
Morgan, meanwhile, is scheduled to face WWE Women's Champion Chelsea Green in a champion-versus-champion match at Crown Jewel in Riyadh on 7 November.
