BGT's Bradley Walsh poses a threat to Simon Cowell's judging seat after successful guest stint
Bradley Walsh was a guest judge at the Britain's Got Talent auditions in Blackpool this week after Simon Cowell pulled out due to a back operation.
Bradley Walsh poses a threat to Simon Cowell's judging seat on Britain's Got Talent after his guest stint goes down a storm.
The 66-year-old host replaced music mogul Simon after he pulled out from the ITV competition's auditions at Blackpool's Winter Gardens this week due to a back operation, with Bradley joining Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and KSI to decide which contestants advance to the next round.
Bradley has relished the experience, leaving Amanda in stitches with his one-liners, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd after singing Frank Sinatra's That’s Life during a break in filming, with KSI jokingly pressing the golden buzzer that grants competitors a place in the semi-final.
And source warned that Simon, 67, "might want to hurry back before Bradley makes himself too comfortable".
They added to The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "Simon might be sweating when he sees just how good Bradley is in his chair. He seemed a little nervous at first but soon looked like he’d been running the show for years.
"He had Amanda in hysterics with his one-liners and even kept telling the audience off for shouting out while he was talking.
"Amanda thought it was hilarious because she knows the BGT crowd is notoriously impossible to tame. But Bradley was having none of it. He was the boss."
Bradley's experience and generosity shone through at the auditions when he gave an aspiring comedian a proper introduction, just what they would receive at a comedy club.
The insider continued: "Bradley’s been in the business for 40 years, he knows how tough it is to be on the other side of this, so has been helping the acts get the best out of this opportunity.
"He’s brought a different energy to the panel. Simon might want to hurry back before Bradley makes himself too comfortable."
The Chase presenter was announced as a guest judge at the Blackpool auditions on Monday (12.10.26).
In a video shared on Britain's Got Talent's social media accounts, 55-year-old Amanda, the longest-serving judge, said: "Oh my goodness, have you heard the rumours about our Guest Judge on Britain’s got talent?"
She joked: "I heard that he’s going to be on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury with Mr Tumble."
KSI, 33, added: "I heard he made a diss track on me…”
Alesha, 48, chimed in: "I heard that he’s a table tennis world champion."
Bradley popped up on screen, and said: "Stop the clock, that is wrong. It’s me, Bradley Walsh."
In a second video, he added: "Here we are. It’s the first morning on BGT. Stuart is on stage at the moment doing the warm up.
"The audience are over here. Maybe I’ll just give them a wave here. They’re all good. They're enjoying it. There’s my name up there!
"And it’s going very well, I’m enjoying it. And Amanda, Alesha and KSI are so lovely to work with."
