Silent Witness star Trevor Kaneswaran becomes a dad for a second time
Silent Witness' Trevor Kaneswaran and his partner, Karina, have welcomed a baby boy into the world.
Silent Witness' Trevor Kaneswaran has become a father for a second time.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (07.10.26), the 40-year-old actor, who plays DC Leo Naziri in the BBC crime drama, and his partner Karina revealed they welcomed a baby boy named Cillian on September 26.
Trevor shared a series of shots showing him smiling as he pushed a pram, cradled Karina's growing bump and held their bundle of joy against his shoulder while patting Cillian on the back, alongside a throwback photo of him holding his daughter Kiya shortly after her birth in 2006.
The entertainer, whose 37-year-old brother is The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran, captioned the post: "A life update.
"Welcoming to the world our baby boy, Cillian Aleksander Kaneswaran, born 26/09/2026. Mother and baby are doing great.
"There is so much love in our home and we are both a well of emotion. I never thought I’d be doing sleepless nights with a smile on my face at my big age, but he is THE most beautiful.
"Slide 2 is me at 20, 20 years ago, with the worst sweater from a Topshop or River Island sales rack, welcoming my beautiful daughter Kiya into the world. I was very much a kid with a kid and it’s all a blur. (sic)"
Trevor admitted that being a dad to Kiya did not prepare him for becoming a father for the second time.
He explained: "I thought it would prep me for now, it didn’t! I just remember it being about survival and there was lots around that time that meant I never got to fully experience fatherhood the way I would have wanted to at the beginning. (sic)"
Becoming a dad again makes Trevor appreciate the "miracle" of childbirth.
He said: "It’s only now having a baby at this age, being in the delivery room, that I fully grasp the magnitude of what is quite frankly, a miracle. To grow a little human inside of you for 9 months and now here he is… and he is perfect. (sic)"
Trevor went on to explain the other shots that formed the photo carousel.
He said: "Slide 3 is Karina and I on d-day, 5 days overdue, having one last picture as a duo.
"Slide 4 baby boy watching his telly to keep him from wriggling during nappy change.
"Slide 5 talking to uncle Jordan right after he poonamied into my hand.
"Slide 6, baby walks in nature, our new normal."
Trevor concluded: "Heart healed."
Siva led the congratulatory messages in the post's comments section for Trevor and Karina.
He penned: "Congrats guys. Can’t wait to meet you Cillian x (sic)."
One of Trevor's fans typed: "Such incredible news Trevor. Congratulations to you and your family brother xxx (sic)."
And a second supporter wrote: "Gorgeous!!! Huge congratulations to you both. God bless (sic)."
