Hairy Bikers star Si King has found love again with a "very special lady".

The 59-year-old TV chef, who was one half of the Hairy Bikers duo alongside the late Dave Myers, has revealed that his romance with new partner Milly has helped him overcome his grief following Myers' death from cancer at the age of 66 in 2024.

Si, who has three sons with his ex-wife Jane Dodd, told The Sunday Times magazine: "She is a very special lady. She really is. I'm very happy. It's been wonderful and continues to be wonderful. And you know, I think the lads are really happy, as is my ex-wife Jane, actually."

Si and Jane were married for 27 years before separating in 2016 and the chef felt that the demands of his TV work caused the relationship to fall apart.

He said: "It's about being present, and I think for very many years I wasn't present. And my home life suffered."

Asked how he's doing at the moment, Si added: "I'm all right, I mean look, it's challenging and I continue to work probably too hard, but I kind of don't know what else to do."

Si had previously admitted that he had found life a "struggle" since Dave's tragic passing.

He wrote in the Sunday Times newspaper in October 2024: "I'll be honest with you, the past few months have been a struggle.

"More than once I was on the verge of jumping on my bike and heading into the sunset. Not tell anyone where I was going. Just clear off and never come back.

"Other times I was raging. Raging at the bloody disease, at God and anything else I could think of. People were asking me what I was going to do next.

"The answer is I am going to take some time to reflect on the life I had with my best mate, and think about moving forwards. Which is exactly what Dave would have wanted. Move forward, don't dwell on the past."

Si and Dave appeared on more than 30 TV shows as the Hairy Bikers and he expressed hope that the pair have "left a legacy" on the small screen.

King explained: "Yeah, I'd like to think we made a little bit of difference, here and there.

"Just two regular blokes, having a go at beef rendang or apple pie. Hopefully we caught the attention of people who didn't normally watch swanky cooking programmes on telly.

"Overweight, scruffy, working-class northerners don't often get presented with an opportunity like the Hairy Bikers.

"It was a beautiful, magical thing and I'll miss it. But there is a future for me, and I'm excited for what's coming next."
