Maya Jama sets the record straight about Stormzy 'reunion'
Maya Jama had parked speculation that she and the Vossi Bop star were giving their on-off relationship another go.
Maya Jama has hit back at rumours she’s reunited with ex Stormzy.
The Love Island host sparked speculation that she and the Vossi Bop star were giving their on-off relationship another go after she followed the rapper on his socials, and shared a video of herself singing along to his One Second track.
Fans quickly started wondering whether or not the former pair, who last split in 2024 after an 11-month romance, were back together, with one asking Maya to set the record straight on X.
Responding to one person, Maya wrote: “I like the song. We have always been friends. No one is back together, rest with the theories.”
Maya and Stormzy first dated from 2015 to 2019, and later gave things another go in August 2023, before splitting again the following July.
After their breakup, Maya went on to date professional Portuguese footballer Ruben, but they split earlier this year after 18 months of dating.
Maya’s clarification about the status of her relationship with Stormzy comes after she hit out at The Celebrity Traitors bosses for “doing her dirty” with her official portrait for the show.
She weighed in on the picture after comedian Rob Beckett, who is appearing alongside Maya in the second series of the BBC spinoff, complained on social media after seeing his headshot.
He wrote on Instagram: "I think there is a traitor in the photoshop department.... what the f*** has happened to my face?"
Maya then replied: "They did us all dirty tbh."
Rob's wife couldn't resist her own cheeky dig at the photo, as she joked he looked better in the headshot than he does in their family snaps.
She quipped: "I’m using AI to replace you in every photo in the house with this one."
Rob and Maya will be seen on The Celebrity Traitors, which kicks off on October 1, alongside other famous faces including Miranda Hart, Michael Sheen and Richard E. Grant.
