Paloma Faith has revealed she is "still in therapy" after being psychologically affected by her experience on The Celebrity Traitors last year.
The 45-year-old singer memorably took her friend, 50-year-old comedian Alan Carr's 'killing' personally, with him brutally 'murdering' the Only Love Can Hurt Like This hitmaker in plain sight by touching her face in the first elimination. Their friendship soured, but they later made up.
Although she, Alan, and their fellow contestants had plenty of support around them, Paloma cautioned that taking part in the BBC's game of backstabbing, deceit and betrayal can still take its toll.
The Brit Award winner told the Daily Mail newspaper's Eden Confidential column: "I'm still in therapy.
"I was the shortest-lived person with the longest time in therapy. I thought I was going to the playground for a laugh. They [producers] told me I should have watched the [show before going on it], and now I wish I had."
Last October, Alan admitted he and Paloma were no longer friends.
Speaking on his Life’s a Beach podcast, the comic shared: "I’m killing people. I’ve killed Paloma Faith. Tom Daley, I can’t stop killing. I’ve got a taste for it. I’m like, what the f*** is it? Jeffrey Dahmer."
His podcast co-host, 63-year-old DJ Norman Cook, professionally known as Fatboy Slim, then asked: "Aren’t you mates with Paloma?"
Alan replied: "Well I was … I’ll tell you. I’ve killed Paloma Faith; she’s not happy about it."
The Chatty Man star then addressed Paloma's outspokenness on TikTok.
He said: "There’s been a few, let’s just say, little TikTok-y things where she says I’ve let her down because I killed her in plain sight.
"I was desperate, and she went, 'If you were a real friend, you wouldn’t have killed me,' but I said I’m the traitor.
"The show’s called The Traitors.
"It’s like going on Naked Attraction and being told, ‘What? I have to take my knickers off’. You know, it does what it says on the tin, I can’t help it."
In November, Paloma and Alan came face-to-face during The Celebrity Traitors' companion show, Uncloaked, following the final, in which he won £87,500 for Neuroblastoma UK, a children's cancer charity.
Alan told the 40-year-old host, fellow comedian Ed Gamble, that it was "so awful" to 'murder' his pal.
He added: "I’m a fan of her music, I’ve been a fan of hers for ages. We are friends, we go on each other’s podcasts.
"It absolutely really hurt, it really did."
After apologising to the Changing artist, Paloma, who was joined by their fellow players in the audience, revealed they had reconciled.
She said: "Observing tonight and going through my whole plethora of hormonal emotions, the reason why Alan won and the reason why I was so sad was because we all love him so much.
"I love you so much, and I’m so happy that you won because it’s b***** worth it then.
"I think that most people didn’t vote for you because they’re like, 'How could we vote someone that’s so lovable?'
"You hurt me, and I loved you."
