EastEnders' Shane Richie has quietly sold his £ 1.75 million family home after he and his wife divorced.

The 62-year-old actor - who plays Alfie Moon in the BBC soap - and Christie Goddard's five-bedroom property in Reigate, Surrey, which they bought in 2008, was advertised by a local estate agent in March, and now it is shown online as "sold subject to contract", with it also removed from listings.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Shane and Christie’s split happened a few months back. They put their house on the market in March, and it took a few months to get a buyer in place.

"Hopefully if it goes smoothly, they will be moving this year and settling down again in separate houses.

"No divorce is pretty, but they’ve tried to be as amicable as possible for their children."

Christie - who has Mackenzie, 20, Lolita, 18, and 15-year-old Romani-Skye with Shane - confirmed to The Sun on Sunday newspaper that their divorce was finalised on July 23, six days before he was arrested for drink-driving at a Tesco petrol station in Church Langley Way, Harlow, Essex.

It is said the 47-year-old actress - who married Shane in 2007 after six years of dating - had grown "fed up" with Shane's behaviour and had "had enough".

A source said: "Christie was at the end of her tether with Shane and had had enough. The divorce was her decision, and she pursued it after talking it through with relatives.

"She had put up with a lot over the years and has had a really hard time of things lately. There was not one specific incident that led to the end, but a build-up of things.

"She got fed up with his behaviour and did not take the decision lightly. There is a feeling he has been working hard and playing hard and that his behaviour has spiralled a bit.

"Christie has been grown-up about it and not booted him out. She still has a lot of love for him but decided they could not go on as husband and wife.

"They have three children together, so that is her main concern."

On July 29, Shane was arrested after arguing with staff at a Tesco petrol station in Church Langley Way, Harlow, Essex, after they reprimanded him for vaping on the forecourt, and Christie hopes the incident will serve as a "wake-up call".

The insider added: “Christie had divorced Shane by then but was still shocked at what happened. Shane might have been pushed over the edge because of the split.

“But it showed Christie was right to fear he had spiralled. It was no way to behave, and she hopes it will be a wake-up call to him.”

Friends are also said to be concerned about Shane and hope he can stay on the straight and narrow during his upcoming Prat Pack tour with friends Bradley Walsh, 66, Brian Conley, 65, and 64-year-old Joe Pasquale.

A source said: “That tour is a double-edged sword. It might do Shane good to spend time with mates and get his head together.

“But friends are also concerned that a month touring with his drinking buddies from the ’90s could do more harm than good.”

A spokesperson for the actor - who also has Shane Jr., 37, and Jake, 33, with his first wife, 61-year-old Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan - did not respond to The Sun's request for comment.
