Jacqueline Jossa ‘reveals EastEnders spoiler’ with online snap
Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans spotted a potentially significant clue about the Slater family’s future after Jacqueline Jossa shared a behind-the-scenes photograph from Walford.
Jacqueline Jossa has reportedly risked the wrath of EastEnders bosses after apparently revealing a major Slater family spoiler in a seemingly innocent social media post from the soap’s set.
The 33-year-old actress, who plays Lauren Branning in the BBC One soap, shared a photograph showing the Walford skyline from the roof of the Queen Victoria pub.
But, as The Sun has reported, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a “for sale” sign outside the Slater family home – raising questions about whether one of Albert Square’s most famous families could be preparing to move.
The apparent spoiler comes during a period of upheaval for the Slaters, with Michelle Ryan confirmed to be leaving her role as Zoe Slater later this year after making a much-publicised return to EastEnders in 2025 following a 20-year absence.
An EastEnders spokesperson previously said: “We can confirm Zoe Slater will be departing EastEnders later this year. We wish Michelle Ryan all the best for the future.”
Michelle first became one of the soap’s biggest young stars playing Zoe from 2000 until 2005, with the character at the centre of the famous revelation Jessie Wallace’s Kat Slater was her mother rather than her sister.
She subsequently starred in the US television series Bionic Woman, as well as appearing in Merlin and Doctor Who.
Her return to Walford last year put Zoe back at the heart of the Slater family, with storylines including her search for twins Josh and Jasmine and her wrongful imprisonment after being accused of murdering former boyfriend Anthony Trueman.
The possible sale of the Slater home also comes as two other major members of the family prepare to spend time away from the soap.
Jessie Wallace, who has played Kat since 2000, is due to take a break around Christmas while appearing as Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
Jessie has become synonymous with EastEnders during more than two decades playing Kat, including her turbulent relationship with Alfie Moon and the landmark Zoe storyline.
Shane Richie, who plays Alfie, is also due to step away from Walford for his pantomime commitments. He is scheduled to play Muddles in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend-on-Sea alongside Steps singer Faye Tozer as the Wicked Queen.
Before his panto run, Shane is also touring with The Prat Pack alongside The Chase and Gladiators presenter Bradley Walsh, comedian Joe Pasquale and former EastEnders actor Brian Conley.
Bradley is also known for playing Danny Baldwin in Coronation Street and Graham O’Brien in Doctor Who, while Brian played Tom “Rocky” Cotton in EastEnders.
Shane has recently been in the headlines after being charged with drink-driving following an incident at a petrol station in Harlow, Essex.
He is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on September 9. He has not been convicted and has continued filming EastEnders.
Jacqueline, meanwhile, has played Lauren since 2010, returning to the soap after previously leaving Albert Square in 2018. Away from Walford, she won the 2019 series of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, becoming one of the show’s best-known former campmates.
