Chris Ramsey joins Gladiators: Celebrity Special
The BBC has announced details of Gladiators: Celebrity Special.
Chris Ramsey is "looking forward to the challenge" of Gladiators: Celebrity Special.
The 39-year-old star will appear on the show alongside the likes of AJ Odudu, George Clarke, and Sara Pascoe, and Chris has admitted to having slightly mixed feelings about the task.
The comedian - who previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing - explained: "As someone who religiously watched Gladiators as a kid, it’s beyond incredible to be taking part in the show myself!
"However, a large part of me does wish it could have been while I was in my 20s and not 40 … but there you go. I’m looking forward to the challenge, the excitement, the crowd and going head-to-head with the Gladiators and the inevitable months of rehab and physiotherapy that will no doubt follow."
AJ, 38, is also looking forward to the challenge.
The TV presenter said: "I am stepping inside the TV to do the show I wanted to do as a kid, it’s so exciting."
Sara Pascoe has joked about the opportunity to compete on Gladiators.
She quipped: "Celebrity Gladiators is the ideal opportunity for me to live out my childhood dream of humiliating myself on national television."
Bradley and Barney Walsh will return to host the show, and the BBC has confirmed that broadcast details will be announced in due course.
Bradley previously revealed why he wanted to be involved with the Gladiators reboot.
The TV star told the BBC: "My wife, Donna, was involved in the original series running the cheerleading G Force and was an associate producer on the show so I used to visit her and watch the show being made and when my son, Barney, was born it was still on air, so we used to take him to watch the show.
"I took part in Gladiators as a celebrity years ago in 1997, I wasn’t really a celebrity back then as I only had a few jobs under my belt and think I had to fill in for someone.
"It was a family affair for us and so when the team at Hungry Bear spoke to us and said they were looking for a family appeal to the show and asked if we would we like to host it, and we jumped at the chance."
