Ladies of London's Martha Sitwell was in hysterical tears as she announced the death of her pet magpie.

On Thursday (25.06.26), the 46-year-old reality TV star choked up as she told her Instagram followers that Hecate drowned in a tub.

In a heartbreaking video, she said: "I’m so sorry, everybody, I’ve got the worst news to share with you all. Hecate died yesterday; she drowned.

"She was normally so cautious about water, and there was a tub I’d left outside that was too deep. It was right next to her bath. I don’t understand why she went in it, and it was a momentary lapse of concentration, and I am so sorry.

"When I couldn’t find her yesterday morning, the last place I thought to look was in that tub. She was so, so clever and so cautious about water.

"I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, everybody. I know you all loved her just as much as I did, and I’m completely shattered. I’m so sorry."

Martha's fans rushed to the post's comments section to express their deepest condolences, as one penned: "Oh Martha - my heart is breaking for you!

"What a wonderful life you gave her! Thank you for sharing Hecate with us!!! We will all love her forever! (sic)"

A second supporter typed: "I’m so sorry. Your relationship was so special to watch - you really seemed like part of each other - and you still are. Sending love!"

And a third follower wrote: "I can only echo what others have said. Please take comfort in all your love and joy you gave Hecate.

"Never blame yourself for this loss. The universe needs you to be stronger now and continue your journey of healing and bringing more joy in the world!

"Celebrating Hecate and the love and care you gave this beautiful soul. (sic)"

Hecate appeared alongside Martha in Bravo's reboot of Ladies of London, which followed a group of British aristocrats and international socialites as they dealt with challenges in their lives.

On Wednesday (24.06.26), it was revealed that the show had been put on pause after one season.

A source told Reality Tea: "Ladies of London is not coming back. It has been paused, which is a nice way of saying cancelled."

The original series of Ladies of London aired from 2014 until 2017.
