Coronation Street promises chaotic dinner party as Theo's killer is revealed
Coronation Street bosses have promised some "home truths" will be revealed during Monday's (22.06.26) episode.
Coronation Street bosses have promised "home truths" will be served at an explosive dinner party next week.
The ITV soap will reveal who killed Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) through "a series of flashbacks" as the key suspects find themselves gathered round the table with other secrets waiting to be revealed.
In a press release, the Corrie team teased: "Join us for a dinner party with a difference on the cobbles next week when home truths are served and the tea is most definitely spilled.
"By the end of the evening, Coronation Street viewers will learn who killed Theo Silverton, as a series of flashbacks revisit the fateful April night when his body was found."
Earlier that day, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) finds out Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) has invited Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) round for dinner, and decides to add Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) to the guest list.
A new promo for the upcoming episode hints at the evening descending into "chaos", with "a broken glass, an overturned chair and angry accusations thrown".
The team added: "They say revenge is a dish best served cold, but Maria Connor seizes an opportunity to turn up the heat on hubby Gary when she accuses Sarah and Gary of having an affair.
"She isn't the only one with suspicions about the former lovers, Kit has also noticed Gary and Sarah’s strange behaviour and wants answers.
"With more than one person sitting round the table having a motive for wanting Theo dead, who has blood on their hands and what other secrets are the dinner guests keeping?"
All will be revealed - including the identity of Theo's killer - in an hour long episode on June 22.
Theo actor James recently admitted he felt it was inevitable his character would be killed off following months of abuse from Theo towards his partner Todd.
Speaking on Inside Soap's Soap Scoop podcast, he said: "I join a long line of people who've met Corrie's own brand of justice.
"I think ultimately, it was always going to be thus.
"I remember chatting to Kate Brooks, the magnificent producer. Theo was all her doing, really. It was her vision and she's wonderful.
"When we very first started, she said: 'Look, it's either going to be court or Corrie's own brand of justice'. Then, as it went further on, it was decided that there's no need for another court case. So off he goes, mate!
"With domestic violence, and as gritty as it was, the feeling was: 'Is there an appetite to relive it all when we've seen it?' I think court cases are only good as a device if there's new evidence, a shocking witness, or somebody saw something.
"But actually it'd just be Todd saying what happened, Theo denying it and then reliving all of those awful events. It's been a brilliant storyline, but also it's been quite brutal and whether there's an appetite to relive that when people [at home] are enjoying their corned beef hash, I don't know!"
The episode will air on ITV at 9pm on Monday (22.06.26), while it will also be available to stream from 7am that morning on ITVX.
