Richard Ayoade was involved in a car crash which saw two pedestrians knocked down.
The 49-year-old comedian was driving in his Mercedes SUV when he was hit by a "speeding" driver in a Renault, with one woman reportedly sent flying and another struck down during the incident on Saturday (13.06.26) afternoon.
In photos published by The Sun newspaper, Ayoade could be seen holding his neck as he got out of his vehicle.
It's said paramedics and police hit the seen in East Dulwich, South East London at 5pm, with both cars towed and the pedestrians taken to hospital.
A witness told the newspaper: "The Renault came speeding along the road and hit a woman — she ended up on the other side of the roundabout.
"Then the Renault hit Richard Ayoade’s car. It smashed straight into the side of his vehicle and then managed to hit another woman.
“We heard one of the pedestrians who was hit screaming and crying.”
The London Ambulance Service added in a statement: "We treated two women at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre.”
It's said the Met Police, who are investigating the incident, noted the pedestrians' injuries were not life-changing or life-threatening.
The incident comes days after Ayoade was announced for the next series of Taskmaster.
The IT Crowd star will be joined on the hit Channel 4 show by comedian Chloe Petts, Peep Show's Isy Suttie, Little Britain creator Matt Lucas, and comedian Nina Conti.
The announcement was made after Gavin and Stacey actress Joanna Page was crowned the winner of series 21.
She emerged victorious in a tough series, which also featured Last One Laughing's Amy Gledhill, The Masked Singer host Joel Dommett, Alan Partridge co-creator Armando Ianucci, and Hollywood star Kumail Nanjiani.
Meanwhile, Alex Horne - who first created the Channel 4 series as a live stage show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - recently played down excitement over a potential Champion of Champion of Champions series for the hit show, which sees comedians battle it out in a series of bizarre and whacky challenges.
He explained: "We're not at that stage yet – we've still got one more Champion of Champions to go before we even consider that.
"I do have a slight hunch that you should leave people wanting more. And you shouldn't always give people what they want.
"But I also think more people would prefer to watch a Loser of Losers, because that's what I get asked most, but I also have a problem with rewarding failure!"
