A Saturday Night Live UK comedian has been rushed to hospital after a freak accident saw him pass out.
Funnyman Paddy Young is most famous for being a cast member on the first series of the Sky TV spinoff of the beloved US TV show, and took to Instagram to tell fans about his recent medical dash.
Sharing a series of snaps, he wrote alongside them: “Cut my finger with a samurai sword!
“Thank you Bebe Ed Horatio for breastfeeding me back to good health
“Thank you Sam for bringing the sword to my home and running away when I fainted
“Fringe run 90% sold out. Tendon 90% lacerated. Aura 100% lost. Tour selling fast – see u there.”
Among the images he shared was one of him laying in a hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown, compression socks and with a cast on his hand.
Another showed him holding up his casted-hand while sitting alongside two of his pals.
People were quick to comment on the social media post, with one writing: “You can use this to advertise sharp comedy with a cutting wit.”
Another added: “Sam told me he thought the sword wouldn’t have cut you if you were honourable.”
While a third commented: “Tut tut. Boys and their Samurai Swords!”
As someone else wrote: ““Omg National Treasures should be protected at all costs!”
While SNL is still in its fledgling state in the UK, the American original has been a launching pad for successful careers for stars including Eddie Murphy and Tina Fey, who hosted the first episode of the British spinoff.
It premiered in the UK in March, with “savage” jokes taking aim at subjects including Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the feud between David and Victoria Beckham and son Brooklyn and dividing opinion among critics.
