Gabby Logan has delayed her OBE investiture ceremony twice because she is too busy.

The 53-year-old TV presenter was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2026 New Year Honours list for services to sports broadcasting and charity, but she was forced to reject two dates for the investiture ceremony this year because of scheduling conflicts.

Gabby told the new issue of HELLO! magazine: "Unfortunately, the date they sent me was the date of my first match in the World Cup, so I obviously had to turn that one down."

The star - who will be the BBC's first female World Cup host when the tournament kicks off on Thursday (11.06.26) - had to decline the second date because it fell during the World Cup knock-out stages.

But Gabby will find time later this year to collect her OBE.

The Match of the Day anchor said: "We've agreed that I'll go in the autumn at some point."

Gabby was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours list for services to sports broadcasting and the promotion of women in sport.

In November 2021, the then-Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, made her an MBE during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.

And Gabby jokingly hopes to receive the honour from a different member of the royal family this time round.

The former Football Focus star quipped: "I had Prince William last time, so a change would be nice."

Gabby added that if it is William, Prince of Wales, 43, again, she is "fine" with that.

Gabby said being made an OBE is "an amazing honour" and added: "It's a very lovely thing to receive a letter like that in the post. I was just very shocked."

A month after she was named in the 2026 New Year Honours list, Gabby's dad, former Leeds United and Wales midfielder Terry Yorath, died following a short illness at the age of 75.

And the pundit knows Terry will be looking down on her with pride.

Gabby said: "He was always very proud of the work that I did.

"Football's very amazing at times like that. I was contacted by so many people from the world of football. It's been really heartening for all of us."
