Olivia Attwood's cookery competition The Heat has been canned by ITV after just one season.

The former Love Island star helmed the reality TV programme - which was filmed in Spain - alongside restaurateur Jean-Christoph Novelli with 10 aspiring chefs battling it out in the kitchen and living together with cameras catching all the tension, drama and blossoming romances between the contestants.

However, ITV bosses have now confirmed the reality series won't be returning to TV.

A spokesperson for the channel told The Sun newspaper: "There are no plans for a second series of The Heat but audiences can watch the first series on ITVX."

An insider added to the publication: "The Heat showed a lot of promise but given that it was a long series and it was filmed abroad, and featured two big names fronting it, the show was not cheap to make.

"So it had to serve up some seriously meaty ratings, which it just didn’t achieve. But competition in TV is particularly stiff right now."

Olivia has been busy filming a number of documentary series for ITV including Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection and the shows were recently picked up by Disney Plus.

The former reality contestant credited Love Island with kicking off her career as she now has a large fanbase around the world.

She told MailOnline: “Love Island is huge in America, the UK one so I feel really lucky there was already quite a large US audience on my Instagram, they are definitely happy to have the shows available, also in Australia as well.

"I’m very happy with my career as it is right now. I mean I’ve had offers, I’m not looking to jump ship right now, but yes, at some point I’m sure we’ll do something over there."

As well as her TV work, Olivia also has a popular podcast called Olivia’s House and a lucrative seven-figure deal with beauty retailer LookFantastic.

A source previously told The Sun: “Olivia’s LookFantastic deal is worth a high seven figures and she also signed an exclusive deal with La Roche Posay as part of it.

"Olivia loves the brand and they love working with her so it’s a perfect fit. She’s got so many deals on the table right now."
