Millie Mackintosh credits olive oil shots for improving her skin.
The 36-year-old star starts her morning with a shot of the liquid and is pleased with how it has lessened redness in her complexion and reduced inflammation.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz and others at Premier Protein’s Fuelling Friendships campaign activation in London, she said: “I’ve been doing an olive oil shot every day and I have noticed a difference in my skin, less inflammation, less redness.
“I do it first thing in the morning, lemon juice, it has to be really early harvest, extra virgin olive oil.
“You know when you have olive oil and it hits the back of your throat and it’s like fiery? You want that taste, not just any olive oil, you want the antioxidants.”
The former Made In Chelsea star – who has daughters Sienna, five, and Aurelia, four, with estranged husband Hugo Taylor – believes sleep is also essential for good health.
She said: “I think sleep is the first thing you should look at to improve your health. Your body repairs and resets itself when you sleep, everything from your brain to how you recover from things.
“I didn’t sleep well last night, I was just getting to sleep at like 3am and then my five year old came in and she’d had a nightmare so ended up in the bed, it’s not always easy to get that good sleep”
Millie teamed up with Premier Protein to come up with a healthy smoothie recipe.
Of her Radiance Refuel blend– which features the vanilla Premier Protein shake – she explained: “You’ve got protein to keep you full, it’s good for your muscles and recovery, and fuelling up for your day.
“The blueberries are great for antioxidants, so good for your skin, and really low in sugar, which is great.
“You could use non-frozen blueberries and then add ice, but if they’re in the freezer you don’t have to worry about them going off.
“Chia seeds, great for digestion and for your skin.
“Pitted dates – I forgot the other day and didn’t use the pitted ones, but these are pitted – they’ve got good fibre.
“Almond butter. Lots of healthy fats with your nut butter and it’ll help keep you full.
“I’d have this for breakfast if I was in a hurry.
“It’s an ideal breakfast for when I’m taking my kids to school, I don’t have time to make an elaborate breakfast.”
Premier Protein is part of your reset ritual. Refuel your body. Reconnect your friendships.
