Sophie Habboo ate her placenta after giving birth to her son.

The 32-year-old TV star has revealed that she consumed her own placenta following the birth of her first child, Ziggy, in December — but Sophie admits she still has her doubts about whether it has had any positive effects at all.

Responding to a fan asking for postpartum must-haves during an Instagram QandA, Sophie said: "I mean I'd love to know the answer too. My hair's falling out by the second. I mean I ate my placenta? Not sure if it did anything?"

Sophie - who welcomed Ziggy with husband Jamie Laing, 37 - had her placenta dehydrated into capsules, a method favoured by a number of celebrities, including fellow Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh and Kim Kardashian.

Some people believe that consuming the placenta can replenish iron levels, promote healthy hormone balance and help with hair loss — although there is currently no medical evidence to support these claims.

The reality TV star - who married Jamie in 2023 - has previously opened up about the pressure she felt to bounce back after giving birth.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sophie said: "I think there's always pressure to look and feel your best, but I just think it's so fun this evening so I just wanted to go for something fun."

Meanwhile, Jamie - who recently attended the BRIT Awards with Sophie - has also reflected on what it was like to welcome their first child together.

The former Made In Chelsea star described fatherhood as the "best thing ever".

Jamie - who will appear alongside his wife in Raising Chelsea, an upcoming Disney+ documentary series exploring their journey to parenthood, including Sophie's emergency C-section - said: "It's just the coolest thing ever. I have a little baby that I just love more than anything — it's the best thing ever."
