Amanda Lamb always introduced herself on TV because people mistook her for Kirstie Allsopp.

The pair have fronted property shows for Channel 4, with Amanda known for her "hello, I'm Amanda Lamb" catchphrase on You Deserve This House, and Kirstie popular for co-hosting Location Location Location with Phil Spencer.

Appearing on the latest episode of The Harry Hill Show podcast, Amanda, 53, said of her iconic self-introduction: "The reason that I used to say 'I'm Amanda Lamb' is because I didn't think anyone knew who I was.

"And the worst bit was that people always used to think I was Kirstie Allsopp, so I always felt that I needed to."

Harry, 61, chimed in that Amanda does "look a bit like Kirstie Allsopp", to which Amanda exclaimed: "Do not start!"

She added: "I get it."

Amanda then recalled the time she was once mistaken for Kirstie, 54, at a property event held at the Olympia exhibition centre in Hammersmith, London.

The star revealed: "So I was doing A Place in the Sun Live a long time ago now, and there was a magazine signing that we had to do.

"And for some reason, there was a 20-minute queue. And this woman at the end got to be, and I said, 'Oh, who am I making it out to?'

"And I started signing it, and she then looked at the magazine and went. 'That's not how you spell Kirstie,' and walked off!"

Harry quipped that Amanda needs a Phil Spencer lookalike, to which Amanda replied: "I get that a lot, 'Where's Phil?'"

Phil, 56, and Kirstie are a renowned presenting duo, having presented Location, Location, Location for 25 years.

But in May 2025, she claimed that her pal was "nervous" about her when they first met.

When asked about their first impressions of each other, Kirstie told TV Times magazine: "I made him nervous! I've never understood why people are scared of me. The question most people ask me is 'Is Phil as nice as he seems?'"

Phil recalled that he remembers meeting her at the screen test for the show.

He said: "We met on a screen test for the show. We were both working as property finders, me in south-west London and Kirstie in west London, when we were approached to make Location.., I thought she was great fun - and a bit mad!

"I had massive respect for her professional opinion from day one."
