Dara Ó Briain has landed a new pilot celebrating the "ordinary side of life".

The Mock The Week host - who recently returned to the helm of the topical panel show's TLC revival - is set to host a "run-through" of a new format with guests including the likes of comedian John Robins.

In a teaser for the show, titled Britain's Dullest, producers have teased: ""Do you go insane for the mundane? Were you born to be mild?

"If you find satisfaction in the simple, this is the show for you.

"Join one of the nation’s favourite comedians and hosts, Dara O’Briain, plus guests including John Robins, for a recorded run-through of a brand-new comedy show celebrating the ordinary side of life."

Free audience tickets are available for free via SRO Audiences for the taping on March 26.

It's not currently clear whether the programme will be for TV or radio, but fans will be keen to find out more if the pilot is a hit.

Dara is keeping busy, after it was recently confirmed the Mock The Week reboot - which was expanded to a 60-minute format - will be returning for a second series on TLC.

Host Dara quipped: "What? Another series? I thought we’d solved all the world’s problems in this series. Oh, all right. Bring me more news!”

Mock The Week - which airs Sundays at 9am on TLC - has featured a host of fresh and returning faces, including Lou Sanders, Russell Howard, Milton Jones, Rhys James, Angela Barnes, Ed Byrne, Katherine Ryan, Hugh Dennis and Sarah Keyworth.

Dan Patterson, Executive Producer at Angst Productions, said in a statement: “It’s been a thrill to see the return of Mock the Week and we’ve been delighted by the reaction of fans to the series in our new-look home of TLC.

"The one-hour format is giving us the additional time and freedom to dig into a news agenda that continues to deliver and introduce new rounds which have been a real success...

"With Dara and Rhys at the helm, and the usual array of top comedic talent set to join the show, we look forward to bringing more episodes to TLC later this year.”
