Sally Lindsay hates the idea of retirement.

The 52-year-old star has been acting for more than two decades, and Sally does not want to slow down now.

She told the new issue of Yours magazine: "The thought of retiring makes me feel ill. What would I do all day if I wasn't doing this?"

The Coronation Street alum will not let age stop her from working.

Asked about life in her 50s, Sally said: "This is the first generation where we're really empowering ourself at this age.

"This is not by any means the end. Even the way we look. I don't know how old anybody is anymore because everybody looks exactly the same as they used to."

The Madame Blanc Mysteries actress takes "12 different supplements" and "swears by collagen" to slow down the ageing process.

Sally added: "It's just another menopause trick. I feel OK, and so I'll stick to it."

In February 2025, the Celebrity Puzzling team captain revealed she had become a grandmother after her stepdaughter, Kristabel White, gave birth to a baby boy called Jason.

And Sally - who has been with Kristabel and stepson Curtis' dad Steve White for more than 20 years and married him in 2013 - relishes being a nan in her 50s.

The Still Open All Hours cast member - who also has twin sons Victor and Louie, 15, with Steve - said: "I love being a grandma.

"They call me Nanna, Nan or Nanny. I'm 52, and it's totally the right age to be a grandma; I think my gran was 40 when she became a grandmother.

"I'm not young, but I'm alright with that. I'm happy, I'm healthy, I'm very much in love with Steve. I love my family, and I feel like this is the time to really enjoy myself.

"In our 50s, we've just started really."

Sally and Steve got married in 2013 after 10 years together.

She previously told Hello! magazine: "The person who looks after me the most in the world is Steve, so it would seem daft if we didn't walk up the aisle together.

"It was also really important to me that we walked down as a family."

Steve has played drums with Paul Weller's Style Council in the past, and Sally admitted she never imagined she'd get married or have children before they met.

She explained: "Some girls have been planning their wedding day since they were six, but I was never one of them.

"And to be honest, I never thought I'd have kids. Because of the career I'd chosen, I never thought it would be possible.

"And then I met Steve. I wanted to get married and have children with him. It was the man I met who changed everything for me, not the fantasy."
