EastEnders star Kacey Ainsworth's dog injured after 'fight with a badger'
EastEnders alum Kacey Ainsworth revealed her Jack Russell Leonard got hurt after being attacked by a badger.
Kacey Ainsworth's dog was in "tatters" after he got attacked by a badger.
Jack Russell Leonard received a bandaged right paw and was forced to wear a wound-healing cone following the fight on February 13.
EastEnders alum Kacey shared shots of her poorly pooch to Instagram on Thursday (26.02.26), and captioned the post: "On Feb 13th Little Leonard had a fight with a badger and lost. Poor wee man was in tatters. (sic)"
The 57-year-old actress - who played Little Mo on the BBC soap from 2000 until 2006 - assured fans that Leonard's health is improving.
Kacey added: "He’s all better and on the mend even if he has a bit of an attitude about badgers. (sic)"
The Grantchester star went on to praise her neighbours for their help in rescuing Leonard from the badger.
Kacey continued: "Thanks to my neighbours who helped in the rescue. It’s a dogs life. (sic)"
EastEnders star Harriet Thorpe (Elaine Peacock) wrote it was "wonderful he's OK and on the mend" in the upload's comments section.
And fans also reacted, as one penned: "Awww bless him I hope he gets better soon Kacey. Keep well Leonard xx (sic)."
A second person typed: "Oh mate! You don't wanna be picking fights with those beasts! Glad you're better Mr L (sic)."
And a third supporter commented: "So glad he is on the mend, poor little one xxx (sic)."
May 2026 marks 20 years since Little Mo - who had many hard-hitting storylines, such as abuse from her first husband, Trevor - last appeared on EastEnders.
And Kacey - whose alter ego left Walford to start a new life for herself and her son, Freddie - has not ruled out a return to the soap.
Appearing on ITV's Lorraine ahead of EastEnders' 40th anniversary in February 2025, the host asked Kacey if she would reprise her role as Little Mo - who has been mentioned off-screen, notably in 2023 when Freddie (Bobby Brazier) visited her.
The actress replied: "She's not dead."
After Lorraine Kelly, 66, asked what Little Mo is doing now, Kacey joked: "I think she's on the tube. She's just going round the Circle Line."
Lorraine added: "Never say never."
