Olivia Attwood thinks being in an unhappy relationship is the "loneliest place to be".

The 34-year-old TV star recently split from husband Bradley Dack, and Olivia acknowledged that all relationships require "work".

In a new episode of the Great Company podcast - which was filmed prior to her break-up - Olivia said: "When you're in an unhappy relationship, it's actually the loneliest place to be."

Olivia admitted that it's difficult to balance marriage with a successful career.

She explained: "When you're young married people that have their careers and they're both high pressure and you're doing your thing, it's so easy to become disconnected.

"But I think it's like some big dirty secret that no one wants to kind of really talk about. But actually when I talked about it, the amount of people that came and messaged.

"Relationships are work and I don't mean they should be laborious and they should drain you, but you do have to actively put into them."

Olivia also confessed to being in unhappy relationships before meeting Bradley.

She said: "I spent so many years locking myself in really unhappy relationships in my late teens, 20s that the idea of being alone was much more terrifying than not just being with someone.

"So I overlapped relationships constantly, they kind of rolled from one to the other because I always wanted to make sure that I was never what I felt like was alone.

"But actually when you're in an unhappy relationship, it's actually the loneliest place to be when you're with someone that don't like each other on like a friendship level, that is so lonely."

Olivia recently confessed that her life has become "chaotic" since her split from Bradley.

The reality star - who first met Bradley at a nightclub back in 2015 - said on Instagram: "Thought I would just jump on, just say hello. It's been a minute. I'm still hanging in. I go to work. I unpack five million boxes.

"Sleep, repeat and live on coffee. That is basically my life and it's pretty chaotic still. I'm kind of getting there, but it's a process."
