Kellie Bright “doesn’t miss” working with Danny Dyer on EastEnders.

The 49-year-old actress shared the screen with Danny, 48, from 2013 as Mick Carter’s wife Linda until he departed the programme at the end of 2022, and Kellie has now explained she “doesn’t miss” Danny as the pair are still good friends.

During an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “Danny and I are still firm friends.

“So, I still speak to him all the time. So I don't miss him as much.”

With soaps like Emmerdale and Coronation Street colliding for the very first time, Kellie would like to see EastEnders crossover with Stranger Things.

She said: “I'd like to see EastEnders work with Stranger Things. And have an 'Upside Down' Walford for all the dead people. And then we can have all those amazing characters back telling you something.”

After Linda divorced Mick in 2022, The Queen Vic landlord went missing at sea, leaving his ex-wife devastated.

While Mick’s body was never recovered, Danny has insisted his character is well and truly dead - but hinted he could still make a return to EastEnders at some point in the future.

He told Heat magazine: “Everyone is asking when I’m going back to EastEnders, which is very interesting to me. But he’s dead!”

Even so, The Football Factory actor teased Mick could return in one of his alcoholic wife Linda’s dreams, or during an hallucination.

He said: “Look, I take it as a compliment that people want me to go back. Who knows? If there’s no closure there, then maybe I would come back for a dream sequence.

“I don’t think Mick could just rock up covered in seaweed!

“I think if they did it right, if they came up with an idea of maybe Linda drunk or hallucinating, then I would come back and do some scenes with her.”

Danny added he would welcome a return to the soap, as he misses working with Kellie.

He said: “You know, because I do miss Kellie, and I think maybe that would stop people asking me when I’m going back!”
