Lord Alan Sugar has sent two contestants home during the first episode of the show.
Lord Alan Sugar has axed two contestants on the first episode of The Apprentice.
The 78-year-old businessman pointed the finger of blame at project manager Nikki Jetha and sub team leader Georgina Newton, after they failed to impress him with their efforts during the first task in Hong Kong, where they filmed the opening episode of the new series.
Following her exit, Georgina reflected: "I was devastated.
"I spent two weeks feeling sorry for myself but then I picked myself back up, put myself back together and then cracked on ready for the next thing."
Despite this, Georgina felt that she was unlucky to be sent home.
The TV star suggested that some of her teammates could have easily been axed instead.
She said: "I probably contributed more than anybody on my team, and I think for the show, the person that contributes the least should go home.
"I thought a had a few more weeks at least left in me."
Nikki also felt deflated after leaving the BBC show prematurely. However, she didn't have any regrets about how she approached the TV show.
She explained: "Disappointed, of course. I didn’t get to show more of me and what I’m capable of, but I definitely don’t feel defeated. You know, I stepped forward, I took a risk and I own the outcome.
"I’d rather be fired for stepping up than staying safe in the background."
Nikki also voiced her frustrations with some of her teammates during the task, accusing them of "complaining and moaning" too much.
Nikki - who was fired by Lord Sugar - observed that some of her teammates simply didn't contribute to the collective effort during the task.
She said: "There were some people who weren’t team players, and they didn’t contribute.
"You know, they spent more time complaining and moaning, as opposed to giving ideas and working out how we can push forward."
