Lorraine Kelly was left gutted announcing Tyler West would no longer be a regular on her show after he landed a new role at KISS FM.
Lorraine Kelly “couldn’t bear” announcing Tyler West would be leaving her ITV show.
The 66-year-old star was left gutted as she broke news that Tyler, 29, had appeared on Lorraine as a regular for the last time as he exits the programme to front KISS FM’s Breakfast show.
Closing out the programme, Lorraine said to Tyler: “We have to say good luck to you because you are off to do an amazing show. You're going to be doing the KISS Breakfast show, which means that we can't have you on [anymore].”
Lorraine added she would miss Tyler and his fiancée Molly Rainford, 25, “so much”, but stressed he would “smash it” at KISS.
She said: “I can't bear it, it's just awful because we will miss you so, so much. You and Molly, we will miss you so much, but we wish you all the best.
“You're gonna smash it. You will be back, of course you will. KISS FM are very lucky to have you, I'll tell you that.”
In a heartfelt moment, Tyler said: “It's been real ... I love you, Lorraine.”
With Lorraine handing over to Ben Shepard, 51, and Cat Deeley, 49, for This Morning, Ben said: “Exciting news. Good luck with that.”
Tyler and Love Island’s Chloe Burrows, 30, announced their new roles at KISS last month, with the pair set to take over from Diversity stars Jordan Banjo, 33, and Perri Kiely, 30.
Tyler said in a statement: “KISS FAM! The mornings are gonna be unreal!
“Taking over from my boys Jordan and Perri is huge ... but trust me, I'm ready to bring it! It's time for big laughs and bigger tunes.
“KISS is where home is - this is your new breakfast show where the door is always open. It's gonna be carnage!”
Chloe added: “I can't believe I'm saying this - I'm joining KISS!
“While I know I've got big shoes to fill, stepping into the station that I've been a HUGE fan of growing up will feel like being launched into my dream job at 100 miles an hour.
“Being the newbie, I know that working alongside Tyler and a world-class team of producers will give me the perfect introduction.
“I'm more than ready to bring the laughs and every ounce of energy I've got for the KISS Breakfast listeners. I'm buzzing!”
