Ruthie Henshall up for doing The Celebrity Traitors
Ruthie Henshall would be more than happy to take part in the second series of The Celebrity Traitors.
Ruthie Henshall wants to do The Celebrity Traitors.
The BBC's ultimate game of backstabbing, betrayal and deceit appeals to the 58-year-old actress because it is a more active reality TV show, compared to her experience on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2020, which involved long periods of sitting down in Gwrych Castle, Abergele, Conwy, North Wales, and gruesome Bushtucker Trials.
Ruthie told the new issue of My Weekly magazine: "I'd like to do The Celebrity Traitors. It appeals because you're doing something, as opposed to sitting for 23 hours of the day and then getting pummelled with fish guts!
"I did I'm A Celebrity in 2020. It was an experience, but I'm sure there are more dignified reality shows!"
Ruthie throwing her name into the ring to do The Celebrity Traitors - which sees Faithfuls identify and banish the Traitors through voting, while the Traitors try to stay undetected and 'murder' the Faithfuls each night - comes after The Crown's Erin Doherty expressed an interest.
In December 2025, Erin, 33, told The Observer Magazine: "From watching that show, I think I'd love it.
"I'm saying it now, but I would hate to be a Traitor. I just loved how much they all loved each other."
Comic Russell Howard, 45, is also interested in doing The Celebrity Traitors in 2026.
In November 2025, he told Radio X: "I’d love to do it. It’s the only one. I’ve been offered most stuff. Obviously, Strictly or sort of I’m A Celebrity.
"I don’t really fancy any of that. But I’d love a go.
"Watching Alan Carr, it’s so funny! Like, it’s sort of that feeling when you just forget how funny he is. And who knew that Alan wearing a cloak was enough? But we’ve been rewinding it just to look at his face!"
Millions of people tuned in to see if Traitors, comedian Alan Carr, 49, broadcaster Jonathan Ross, 65, and singer Cat Burns, 25, could successfully remain undetected and, ultimately, steal the jackpot from the Faithfuls - earned by the cast in a series of challenges - in the November 6 final.
Faithfuls - including retired rugby player Joe Marler, 35, Good Morning Britain anchor Kate Garraway, 58, and 45-year-old Ted Lasso actor Nick Mohammed - and sensationally, Alan and Cat banished Jonathan from the show.
However, in the final - which raked in an average of 11.1 million with a peak of 12 million viewers, the biggest overnight audience across the market - Cat was caught as a Traitor, and Joe was mistakenly voted out.
But as Alan remained undetected, he snatched the £87,500 prize pot - which he donated to Neuroblastoma UK, a children's cancer charity - from Faithfuls Nick and 55-year-old writer David Olusoga.
With the success of series one, The Celebrity Traitors is coming back later this year.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, said: "Studio Lambert have done an outstanding job as The Celebrity Traitors has well and truly captivated the nation, becoming a bona fide highlight of the year, bringing record numbers of people together to enjoy every twist and turn.
"In 2026, the doors of the castle will be opened again to welcome celebrity players to the game to see who can charm, who can scheme and ultimately who can survive in series two, which promises to be just as unmissable as the first."
Kalpna also confirmed that podcast The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked - in which 39-year-old comedian Ed Gamble speaks to each of the stars for their first interview since leaving the castle - is returning, airing on BBC Sounds, BBC Two and iPlayer.
