Dani Dyer hopes to do Strictly Come Dancing in 2026
As Dani Dyer was forced to withdraw from the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing due to injury, she hopes to get a second shot at gracing the dance floor next year.
Dani Dyer wants to do Strictly Come Dancing in 2026.
The Love Island alum was set to grace the dance floor with 28-year-old professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin, but she was forced to pull out of the BBC Latin and ballroom show on September 23 - days before the first live show on September 27 - after she fell and fractured her ankle during rehearsal on September 19.
But now Dani - who was replaced by fellow Love Islander Amber Davies, 29, who finished runner-up to winners, former footballer Karen Carney, 38, and her 32-year-old professional dance partner Carlos Gu - hopes Strictly Come Dancing's bosses will remember her for next year's series.
Dani, 29, told The Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine: "It's up to Strictly because I would absolutely love to do it again. I didn't even really get to start my journey, so I think what's meant to be will be."
Addressing the current state of her ankle injury, she added: "My foot still isn't 100 per cent, but it's a lot better than it was. Before, I couldn't even touch it without feeling sick, whereas now it moves a lot.
"It's just about strengthening it."
Dani was "heartbroken" that her injury had forced her to exit Strictly Come Dancing early.
She said in a statement at the time: "I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot, but it swelled up badly over the weekend, and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.
"Apparently, doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable, and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance, so I've had to pull out of the show."
However, she watched the show from the comfort of her sofa,
Dani - who is the daughter of 48-year-old actor Danny Dyer - added: "I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on."
The star was not the only celebrity to pull out of the recent series, as Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn, 50, withdrew from the competition for medical reasons.
Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope, 30, replaced him.
