Davina McCall marries celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas
Davina McCall and celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas have tied the knot.
Davina McCall has married celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas.
The 58-year-old TV star and Michael tied the knot in an "absolutely beautiful" wedding ceremony in front of immediate family and their closest friends.
A friend told The Sun newspaper: "Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted. They chose a small venue close to their home, and just invited about ten of their friends and relatives to be there with them.
"It was very intimate and everyone who attended is very special in their lives.
"They’ve been through a huge amount in recent months, with Davina’s health, and it just felt right to formalise their marriage. They didn’t see the point in waiting.
"The next day they just carried on with life as normal, and as coincidence would have it they were guests at another friend’s wedding day.
"So they went as a married couple for the first time and happily showed off her wedding ring. It was the perfect weekend."
By contrast, Davina previously insisted that she had no intention of getting married again
The TV star has been in a relationship with Michael for more than six years, but she claimed that they weren't planning to walk down the aisle.
Davina - who was previously married to Andrew Leggett and Pet Rescue presenter Matthew Robertson - told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We go on honeymoons all the time but without getting married.
"We're in the honeymoon period after all these years. I couldn't be more happy. And sometimes there's an idea of, why change anything?"
Davina previously hosted the BBC dating show Stranded on Honeymoon Island and explained that she is even more enthusiastic about her presenting career having had a benign brain tumour removed last November.
The former Big Brother host said: "I love my job. I run to work. I love the people I work with. I've got some really good friends now that I've met through work. I am so lucky.
"As I get older I appreciate it even more. We were just saying earlier how funny it is that I used to say, 'TV will retire me at 50'. And here I am at 57."
