Doctor Who auction to raise money for Children in Need
Children in Need is set to benefit from an upcoming Doctor Who online auction.
A Doctor Who online auction is set to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
Auction house Propstore is poised to sell more than 200 iconic props and costumes spanning the TV show's rich legacy, with bids starting at £100.
Stephen Lane, the founder and CEO at Propstore, said in a statement: "Propstore is honoured to support BBC Children in Need with another Doctor Who auction.
"The 2025 Doctor Who charity sale earlier this year, and the response from fans was incredible. This new auction brings an even stronger selection, and we’re excited to see it raise even more for such an important cause."
Some 20 percent of the net hammer price will go to BBC Children in Need, thereby helping to support children and young people in communities across the UK.
The remaining funds will go to BBC Studios, which will reinvest the money into the storage and preservation of thousands of historic Doctor Who props and costumes.
Tommy Nagra, the director of content at BBC Children in Need, said: "Doctor Who has always been a wonderful friend to BBC Children in Need and we’re delighted to see the Whovian community come together once again. Their support helps raise vital funds to make lives lighter for children and young people across the UK."
Sarah Bold, the head of marketing of global brands and licensing at BBC Studios, explained that the auction will help to "protect and preserve the incredible legacy of Doctor Who for future generations".
She said: "Doctor Who is built on the passion of its fans, and this auction is a way to celebrate that connection. By bidding, fans not only bring home a piece of television history, they also help us protect and preserve the incredible legacy of Doctor Who for future generations, while supporting BBC Children in Need."
The auction will run from February 3 until February 19, and fans are being encouraged to register for the auction via https://propstoreauction.com/auctions/info/id/494.
