Jessie J reflected on resilience and hope in a CBeebies Bedtime Story - amid her breast cancer battle.

The 37-year-old pop star read My Path, which follows a little snail navigating life’s twists and turns, and encourages youngsters to embrace obstacles and to plow ahead amid an uncertain path.

Jessie has suffered a challenging few months - in June, she was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy.

Speaking about her appearance on CBeebies Bedtime Stories on Friday (28.11.25), the Price Tag singer - who, in October, was "frustrated" as her second breast cancer surgery was postponed - said: "Every day, we follow our very own special path, and it can take us in many directions.

"My path has led me here to read you a CBeebies Bedtime Story!

“Like the little snail in the story, we might experience bumps along the way and some big mountains to climb, but I say to myself, ‘Keep going, Jess!’

“And I hope that’s what little ones and grown-ups take from My Path too.”

Jessie offered an uplifting message after she read My Path, written and illustrated by Jana Curll.

She said: "Every path IS special, so choose yours … and keep going.

“Life is one big and beautiful adventure. Choose a happy path, believe in magic and live your best life.”

The Domino hitmaker's "whole world has changed" since she was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer - which Jessie publicly revealed in June.

In an emotional speech at the Music Industry Trust Awards on November 3, Jessie reflected on the implications the disease has had on her life.

The star - who returned to the stage just weeks after her first operation to perform at BBC Radio 2 In The Park in Essex in September - said: "I know I joke a lot, I love to laugh, but in all seriousness, how beautiful is it that we make music?

"And we share it with the world, and each and every one of us plays a part in making that wheel keep turning in a world that's ever changing.

"All of us here are going through stuff in life that we have to carry to work and leave at home, or take to work.

"This year has changed my whole world. My perspective, what battles I'm going to pick, when death comes knocking at your door, and you kind of have to answer, and f****** kick it away, it just changes everything."

And backstage at the Royal Variety Show on November 19, Jessie hugged 43 year old Catherine, Princess of Wales - who revealed her cancer battle in March 2024, and is now in remission - as she told the royal about her breast cancer diagnosis.

Jessie J’s CBeebies Bedtime Story aired on Friday at 6.50pm on CBeebies and will be available on iPlayer.

Zootropolis 2 actor Ke Huy Quan, 54, will read Brian the Lion Who Learned, by Frances Stickley, at the same time on Saturday (29.11.25).
