Maura Higgins has warned her fellow The Traitors US contestants not to “come for her” at the show’s round table.

The Irish reality TV regular, 34, steps into a darker persona in the first look at the incoming American version of the hit series, and is seen issuing the warning in a promo for the show as it prepares to return in January Stateside.

She is featured in newly released trailer material wearing a black PVC dress for her castle portrait – and declares: “If someone comes for me at the Round Table, God love them.”

The US edition of the hit format – hosted by actor Alan Cumming – will stream in the US from 8 January and, like the UK version, has been filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.

Maura is already familiar to American audiences through Love Island USA: Aftersun.

Her warning sets the tone for a cast that includes several high-profile US figures.

They include Donna Kelce, mother of NFL star Travis Kelce and future mother-in-law of singer Taylor Swift, as well as Olympic figure skaters Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir and Dancing With the Stars professional Mark Ballas, son of Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas.

The third series of the American adaptation is expected to reach UK audiences via BBC iPlayer from mid-2026.

Before then, viewers will see the fourth UK series of The Traitors in January, followed later next year by a second series of Celebrity Traitors, following the success of this autumn’s debut run, won by Alan Carr.

Maura first became known to British viewers on the fifth series of Love Island in 2019, where she reached the final alongside Curtis Pritchard and finished in fourth place.

This year it was reported she shared a drunken kiss with McFly singer Danny Jones at a Brits afterparty, prompting him to apologise to his wife, Georgia, and to fans.

Her appearance on The Traitors US will see her take part in a series built on suspicion and strategy, as contestants attempt to identify the hidden Traitors within their ranks.

Whether Maura will be among the Faithful or the Traitors will only become clear when the series begins.
