I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! bosses hope the new series proves to be "tough and gruelling" for the contestants.

ITV recently announced the line-up for this year's I'm a Celebrity series, and Olly Nash, the show's executive producer, has provided an insight into what viewers should expect from the upcoming series.

Olly told the Daily Mail: "It’s a tough and gruelling show, and there’s nothing wrong with driving that home.

"We need to see more celebrities earning their keep, that's the most important thing.

"We have more celebrities taking part in the trials than we ever have before, so it's more of a competition."

Olly hopes that this year's series - which is being hosted by Ant and Dec - will prove to be discernibly different from the last.

He said: "Last year, we had a great positive happy cast that all joined together and had a happy time. This year they are going to have to fight more, earn more and play a bigger part in camp.

"No longer can they be just sitting on the beds in the back, they are going to have to step up to the challenge and face the music. And there are a few celebrities in this year's camp that are sure to get niggled if they're hangry or sleep deprived."

Meanwhile, Martin Kemp recently admitted that he's been taking advice from his son ahead of his appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

The 64-year-old star has already landed in Australia ahead of his stint on the ITV show, and Martin revealed that he's been taking advice from Roman Kemp, his 32-year-old son, who finished in third place in the 19th series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2019.

After arriving in Australia, Martin told The Sun newspaper: "It was nice to sit down for 23 hours.

"I’m not sure where I’m going at the moment.

"What am I gonna miss? My family. But it’s an adventure."

Martin revealed that Roman had given him some advice before he left the UK.

The former EastEnders star shared: "He said don’t take it seriously, just enjoy it. Which I think is the best advice you can get."
