Russell Howard is the latest star interested in doing the second series of The Celebrity Traitors in 2026.

The 45-year-old comedian was one of millions who enjoyed the first series of the BBC's ultimate game of backstabbing, deceit and betrayal - which was won by 49-year-old comic Alan Carr - and it is the only reality TV programme Russell would do.

Russell told Radio X: "I’d love to do it. It’s the only one. I’ve been offered most stuff. Obviously, Strictly or sort of I’m A Celebrity.

"I don’t really fancy any of that. But I’d love a go.

"Watching Alan Carr, it’s so funny! Like, it’s sort of that feeling when you just forget how funny he is. And who knew that Alan wearing a cloak was enough? But we’ve been rewinding it just to look at his face!"

Capital Breakfast radio show host Sian Welby is also up for the challenge of being a successful Traitor or Faithful to win up to £100,000 for a charity of her choice.

The 39-year-old presenter told the Daily Star newspaper's Wired column: "I've been so hooked to the Traitors ...

"I would love to [go on it]. I don't know if I'm even worthy. You've had the likes of Jonathan Ross and Sir Stephen Fry. It's great television, such a good mix of people.

"I'd be honoured to be in it."

In October, it was reported that Gavin and Stacey creator and star Ruth Jones, 59, is in talks to take part in the next series of The Celebrity Traitors.

A source told The Sun: "The celebrity version of The Traitors has been a phenomenal success for the BBC and they’re already approaching stars for the next run.

"Ruth is one of the names in the frame, and she’s been approached about taking part.

"Given the stellar names they secured for series one, the next instalment has to be just as impressive. Ruth would be an incredible addition to the cast if she can fit it into her schedule.

“Ruth would only consider taking part on the proviso she would be a Faithful.”

And "if the money is right", former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, 48, will agree to do the programme - which sees the Faithfuls identify and banish the Traitors through voting, while the Traitors try to stay undetected and 'murder' the Faithfuls each night.

The star - who rejected the BBC's offer for him to do the first series of The Celebrity Traitors - said on his and 29-year-old daughter Dani Dyer's Live and Let Dyers podcast: "They did sniff around me about it. It was a ‘no’ from me because, for one, I hadn’t seen it, but now I’m into it. If you’re going to do it, if you’re famous, it needs to be an indulgence project - you have to love the game.

"It’s quite a simple game, I thought it was too complicated, but it’s actually just about manipulating people and a lot of lying. If the money’s right, I might get involved in the next series.”

The BBC has confirmed that The Celebrity Traitors - hosted by 53 year old Claudia Winkleman - will return for a second series on BBC One and iPlayer after the first series became the biggest unscripted title on Broadcaster VOD ever.
